DISCOVER THE PAMIRS IN 4 DAYS

Day 1. Khorog – Wakhan (Langar village), ( 10-12 hours of driving including stops)

Meeting with a driver at the hotel / homestay in Khorog. Heading to Ishkashim through Garm Chashma hot spring and then to  Wakhan valley of Tajikistan. Visiting the ruins of Kah-Kaha and Yamchun fortresses, Bibi-Fatima hot-spring, pre-Islamic shrines, Museum of Sufi Muboraki Wakhoni, astronomer and scholar of the 19^th century. Overnight in a homestay in Langar village. 246 km

Altitudes above sea level during the day: beginning of the  day - 2100 m in Khorog, the highest point Yamchun 3200m  and at end of the day –Hissor 2800m

Day 2. Langar– full day trekking.

Engels Meadows Trek. Highlights: great view of immense Engels (6507 m) South Face, breathtaking view of the whole Wakhan valley, both Afghan and Tajik. Overnight in a guesthouse in Langar village. 20 km. Maximum elevation of the day; 3254m

Day 3. Langar– Bulunkul (7-8 hours of driving)

Departing Wakhan and heading to Bulunkul (the coldest place in Tajikistan) along Pamir River and via Khargush Pass (4344 m). 2-3 hours trek to the viewpoint of the pass. Overnight in a homestay in Bulunkul settlement. In the evening discovering the village/playing altitude volleyball with locals. Overnight in a homestay in Bulunkul. 130km

Altitudes above sea level during the day: beginning of the  day - Hissor2800m ,  the highest pass Khargush Pass 4344m  and at end of the day – Bulunkul 3737m

Day 4. Bulunkul – Murghab ( 8-9 hours of driving)

Driving to Alichur for a half-day yak safari to observe the wildlife (in particular of Marco-Polo sheep and Ibex). In the evening drive to Murghab. Overnight in a homestay/hotel in Murghab. 145km.

Altitudes above sea level during the day: beginning of the  day - Bulunkul 3737m,  and at end of the day –Murgab 3630m

Day 5. Transfer to Osh terminal. Drive to Osh on share taxi.

What will you see: Panj River and its gorges, along the Afghan border / The famous Wakhan valley /Ancient fortresses Kah-Kaa (III century BC-VII century) and Yamchun (III-I century BC) / Petroglyphs / Yashilkul fantastic scenery / the Pamir plateau 

What you will enjoy: historical places / bathing in hot springs / amazing scenery of the Afghan Hindu-Kush / Pamiri hospitality / to see Indian gooses (Anser Indicus) in their natural habitats Note: Visiting Afghan border market in Khorog or in Ishkoshim only on Saturdays
